Focus: The « Allergenes light » range
Since March 11, 2005, producers of cosmetic products and perfumes must add to the list of ingredients on the secondary package the presence beyond a certain threshold of 26 molecules considered to be allergens. This requirement, which concerns 90 to 95% of products, is one of the most visible effects of the 7th Amendment of the Cosmetics Directive 2003/15/CE (1).

Will this measure lead to a major market upheaval, and even to the disappearance of some products? After a few months of implementation, one can ascertain generally that the manufacturers in this industry prefer to label their products rather than eliminate from their formulas such essential ingredients as rose oil, jasmine oil, ylang-ylang oil, etc.

However, in order to answer the needs of our clients in the development of new ranges or in the reformulation of specific products, Adrian Industries, our specialist of raw materials, has performed a detailed study of the allergen rates present in the essential oils. It offers a selection of those with naturally low rates.
The company has also developed a range called Allergenes Light with rates reworked and lowered to very interesting levels:
- Camomile essential oil
- Geranium essential oil
- Lavendin essential oil
- Lavender essential oil

Other essential oils are being studied and will soon come and enlarge this range of natural raw material. Also, our subsidiary Floressence currently works on a range of free labelled fragrances including especially the hesperidic orange and lemon.

Please do not hesitate to contact one or the other of these companies according to your needs:
- for the essential oils or other aromatic raw materials Allergenes light
- for the fragrances Allergenes light
